Haggerty Square Apartments are part of the 10- acre Haggerty Square development located on Haggerty Road between 7 Mile and 8 Mile Road.  Tower Construction’s scope of work included the installation of typical utility infrastructures, two underground detention systems, the addition of a traffic signal on Haggerty Road, the construction of the retail and apartment buildings and an in-ground pool.

The site is unique in that it was made up entirely of uncontrolled fill.  This required the installation of specialty foundations, consisting of geo pier stone columns installed twenty-five feet deep, every three feet, for both the retail and apartment buildings.  The site also had contaminated soils requiring the installation of a vapor mitigation system at both the retail and apartment structures.

The retail portion of the development consists of two buildings totaling 32,000 square feet.  In addition to the two shell structures, Tower Construction is also completing the build-out of the Donut Bar tenant space in the north retail building.

The apartment portion of the development has two apartment buildings, three stories each consisting of 200 units totaling 258,000 square feet.  There is a community center located in the west structure and both apartment buildings surround a beautiful in-ground pool and green space.  Resident parking garages flank all four sides of the complex’s perimeter.

The sitework began February 2019. The retail portion of the development was completed first in October 2019.  Construction of the apartment buildings and associated amenities is scheduled to be complete summer 2021.
